St Mary’s Laboratory Services (SLS) originated in 1972 as a joint venture between St Mary’s and Methodist Hospitals providing laboratory services to area hospitals, clinics, and private physician’s offices. First named Interlab and then Shared Laboratory Services in 1977, the name was again changed to St Mary’s Laboratory Services in 1987 when Methodist was acquired by another local hospital. St Mary's Laboratory Services carries on the tradition of providing high quality and cost effective laboratory services to our various customers large and small in South Central and South Western Wisconsin.
Who is St. Mary's Laboratory Services?
Laboratory test results comprise about 70% of a patient’s medical record. Medical diagnoses and treatment decisions depend on timely and accurate test results. Working behind the scenes, laboratory professionals are a critical component of the health care team. The St. Mary’s laboratory team provides exceptional patient care services through the professional collaboration among pathologists, laboratory technologists, technicians, technical specialists, lab assistants, pathology assistants, transcriptionists, customer service assistants, lab courier services, and other exceptional members of our healthcare team. The group is made up of over 150 qualified employees, operating 24/7 in most sections of the laboratory. Services available include:
