Dialysis Center

The SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital – Madison Dialysis Center has been providing quality health care for years. The center is the largest in Madison with 35 dialysis stations in 28,000 square feet of space. It has the capacity to serve 172 chronic patients.

Our Facilities

SSM Health St. Mary's Dialysis Center is designed to find the best treatment option for each individual. The goal of the center is to ensure quality, respectful care in a comfortable, homelike environment. The facility has private dialysis stations with state-of-the-art therapeutic chairs and televisions. Videotapes on kidney and dialysis education, as well as feature movies are available for patient and family use during treatment. We also offer an on-site nephrology clinic, staffed by the Madison Area Renal Specialists, in order to offer a full spectrum of care to our patients.

Staffing and Care

Dialysis teams at the center develop and provide a care plan that is best suited to each individual's needs. The teams help each person feel comfortable about the decisions he or she has made regarding his or her own treatment for kidney failure.

The dialysis team takes a multidisciplinary approach to care. The team consists of physicians who are board certified in nephrology and their colleagues who provide 24-hour coverage for all renal patients. The dialysis program includes a program director, team leader, and case managers who are specially trained in dialysis care. The dialysis patient care team includes physicians, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and certified hemodialysis technologists providing nursing care and treatment. Other professionals on the dialysis team include social workers, dietitians, pharmacists, pastoral care staff, and a renal clerk.
