Psychiatric ServicesA 22-bed acute care unit provides a supportive, confidential place for individuals with psychiatric illnesses. The unit is staffed by a team of psychiatrists, psychiatric nurses, occupational therapists and psychiatric social workers. Focus is on patient and family involvement in all aspects of care.
Geriatric ServicesSt. Mary's provides various programs addressing the needs of older adults. For older adults who live at home yet need specialized care and companionship during the day, St. Mary's offers the services of its Adult Day Health Center. For the active older adult, Dean & St. Mary's Health Works offers health and fitness classes. The hospital also sponsors GoldenCare, a free membership organization through which older adults receive health information, participate in social activities and free health screenings, and receive assistance with Medicare paperwork.St. Mary's Care Center is a 184-bed skilled nursing facility also owned by SSM Health Care, and is located on Madison's southwest side. The center provides long-term nursing care, physical and occupational therapy, recreation and rehabilitation services. The center also provides care for persons in need of therapy or other services after hospitalization yet prior to returning home.
St. Mary's Medical Laboratory
State-of-the-art laboratory testing is available 24-hours a day through St. Mary's Medical Laboratory, a spacious, modern facility.
Providing exams in chemistry, hematology, microbiology and surgical pathology, the lab also offers flow cytometry, virology and blood bank services. St. Mary's Laboratory Services provides outreach testing services for hospitals, clinics and physician offices within a 75-mile radius of Madison.
Child Care Center
The mission of St. Mary's Child Care Center is to provide children of St. Mary's employees with care that is child-centered, family-oriented and community based. The teachers and support staff believe that a healthy development of positive self-esteem and a well developed self-concept is most significant in the formative years, 0-6. Care for children is inclusive of racial, ethnic, social, economic and family structure diversity. Your child will participate in age-appropriate play, dance, music and movement, drama and creative visual arts. This service is for children of St. Mary's employees only, and space is limited.
