St. Mary's Hospital offers two emergency service locations in Dane County. There is an emergency room at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison and St. Mary's Emergency Center, located in Sun Prairie, WI. Our strategic design of patient flow and precise coordination of services allows us to treat patients faster.
Our facility is staffed by Madison Emergency Physicians (MEP) - a group of board-certified physicians and advanced practice providers who specialize in Emergency Medicine. When you arrive, you will be seen quickly, with an average wait time of less than 14 minutes.
The Madison Emergency Physicians group provides coverage to all of our SSM Health facilities in Wisconsin - St. Mary's Madison, St. Mary's Janesville, St. Clare Baraboo, St. Mary's Sun Prairie Emergency Center, Columbus Community Hospital, Upland Hills Health and Lake Delton Urgent Care. Our commitment to providing exceptional and compassionate care can be seen through our attainment of accreditation as a Chest Pain Center by the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care and designation as a Level III Trauma Center. So in addition to the Emergency Physicians, we also have surgeons and anesthesiologists available at all times of the day to handle your emergency medical needs.
For minor illnesses and injuries, such as sprains, strains, cuts sore throat, coughs and bladder infections, come to one of our conveniently located urgent care facilities in Madison.
We are open from 7 am to 4 pm on holidays during the week and from 8 am to 5 pm on holidays that fall on the weekend.
