You may find the STORK'S NEST PROGRAM to be of a GREAT benefit for you and your baby.
The Stork's Nest is an incentive program that provides pregnant young women with prenatal and postnatal education, parenting information and necessitites for their newborns. In exchange for keeping clinic appointments, practicing healthy behaviors and attending classes during pregnancy, participants earn a cash equivalent that may be used to purchase items they will need for themselves or their babies to start out on the right foot.
The educational classes consists of nine sessions covering prenatal care, nutrition, breastfeeding, infant care and parenting. Since its inception, the program has assisted over 15,000 women and children nationwide.
Madison's program is designed to encourage expectant mothers to:
Receive early prenatal care
Attend educational sessions covering prenatal care, nutrition, breastfeeding, infant care, W-2, child support and parenting during their pregnancy
Mothers-to-be who are enrolled and attend prenatal care and classes will receive Stork's Nest Dollars which they can use to redeem items such as infant clothes, baby clothing and other items.

STORK'S NEST MADISON PROJECT GOALS:
To provide incentives for expectant mothers to obtain early and regular prenatal care.
To provide clothing and nursery items for pregnant women who use community health services.
To provide educational opportunities for pregnant women to help them make informed choices and decisions relating to parenting, nutrition, and health, child support and Wisconsin Works.
To provide information and referral to community resources to enhance the physical and emotional well-being of mothers and their families.
