We were expecting our first children twin boys when I went into labor at 31 weeks. I was then transferred to St. Mary’s from the local hospital when my water broke. I stayed there for two days when my beautiful twin boys were born. They both were just over 3 lbs. a piece. It was the happiest time and the hardest time of our lives. They stayed in the NICU-- one for 7 weeks the other for 8 weeks. The nursing staff was one of the biggest support units that we had. They [the boys] had good days and their bad days but the nursing staff kept reassuring us that they were giving the best care possible to our boys. It was hard living so far away from Madison that I couldn't see them every day. But I called multiple times a day and they reassured me that my boys were in good hands they were doing great. The times we were there to see them the staff was there when we needed them to be but let us spend quality time with our children uninterrupted. St. Mary's saved my little boys lives and We are so Grateful. Thank you NICU.
