Dean & St. Mary's Stroke Center  provides the full range of services designed to improve outcomes for patients and families who are experiencing, or have experienced, a stroke.

A dedicated center provides an approach to rapid assessment, diagnostic evaluation, acute management, and rehabilitative efforts to meet the needs of every patient who comes to us for care.

The Adult center is located in a recently remodeled section of St. Mary's. Nurses dedicated to the care of patients with neurologic disorders staff the 24-bed nursing care unit for patients requiring inpatient medical or post-surgical care.

St. Mary's pediatric department and neonatal intensive care unit provide skilled care for infants and children with neurologic disorders.

OccupatioStroke Health Risk Assessmentnal, physical, and speech therapists join social workers, nurses and physicians in planning and implementing patient care and in planning for care after discharge from the hospital. A rehab team coordinates the care and rehabilitation plan of stroke patients.

Outpatient services include EEG, EMG, vascular doppler studies, sleep studies, and seizure monitoring. The neuroscience center's services are augmented by the services of St. Mary's Medical Laboratory, St. Mary's Medical Imaging Department and the Turville Bay MRI Center. Combined, these services provide laboratory testing and diagnostic scanning and imaging for both inpatients and outpatients.

Dean & St. Mary's neurologists and neurosurgeons also provide outreach consultative services to outlying hospitals and clinics throughout southern Wisconsin, including the Dean & St. Mary's Primary Care Clinics.
