My Guardian Angels
On July 12th, 2010 the 12th anniversary of my daughter Kristi's death, my granddaughter and I visited the cemetery and then the zoo.  We went to lunch and it was like any other day.  After lunch we went to St. Mary's Hospital to visit my brother who was there for some tests.  While visiting my brother I felt perfectly fine, nothing seemed to be any different.  On our way back to my car my granddaughter and I were just talking.  Then all of a sudden, I felt short of breath, then I felt dizzy, so I decided to sit down on a brick wall on Mills St.  That was the last thing that I remember until I woke up in the ER.  I was told by my granddaughter that a nearby construction worker called 911 and nurse (Rosie) got out of her car, came running over and started CPR on me with the help of some other nurses until the paramedics arrived.

The doctors tried to put stents in me twice, but my heart rejected them.  The doctors decided to put a pump in me to relax my heart until they could do double bypass surgery on me two days later.  The surgery went well.  A few days after the surgery, I had a defibrillator put in me.  I am now in cardiac rehab, which is going great.

Thanks to all the doctors, nurses and all their staff for not giving up on me and helped save my life that day.  I was told that I was in the right place at the right time, otherwise I would not be here today.  They are all truly my Guardian Angels!

Thank you,
Patti
