Geriatric
St. Mary's provides various programs addressing the needs of older adults. For older adults who live at home yet need specialized care and companionship during the day, St. Mary's offers the services of its Adult Day Health Center. For the active older adult, Dean & St. Mary's Health Works offers health and fitness classes. The hospital also sponsors GoldenCare, a free membership organization through which older adults receive health information, participate in social activities and free health screenings, and receive assistance with Medicare paperwork.
St. Mary's Care Center is a 184-bed skilled nursing facility also owned by SSM Health Care and is located on Madison's southwest side. The center provides long-term nursing care, physical and occupational therapy, recreation and rehabilitation services. The center also provides care for persons in need of therapy or other services after hospitalization yet prior to returning home.
