In the interest of good health, St. Mary's provides a smoke-free environment for its patients and visitors. No tobacco use of any kind will be permitted inside or outside any St. Mary's-affiliated hospitals, clinics, or medical office buildings. This includes entrances to any building and walkways to these entrances, consistent with City of Madison, Wisconsin Code of Ordinances, Section 23.05. As a member of SSM Health Care (SSMHC), St. Mary's is among hospitals in four states to become tobacco free – both inside and out.
